SaveLIFE Foundation (SLF) is an award winning non-profit, non-governmental organization focused on improving emergency care and road safety in India and developing counteries. SLF brings community volunteers together with interventions in healthcare, technology and law enforcement to create a highly mobile and trained network of medical first-responders. Besides creating community-driven emergency response systems, SLF is advocating for a Good Samaritan Law to protect, from police harassment and legal hassles, those who come forward and help injured victims in India. In a recent development widely reported in the media, the Government of India has agreed to SLF’s recommendation to issue immediate guidelines to protect good Samaritans.
Over the past 3 years, SLF has trained over 3000 Police responders and community volunteers in the Indian states of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra in Basic Trauma Care skills, and has recently established a dedicated dispatch centre in partnership with India's Religare Technologies to mobilize all trained “care-givers” within seconds of receiving a distress call.
SLF is the winner of 2012 Echoing Green Fellowship and 2010 Rolex Award for Enterprise for breakthrough innovation in enabling urgent care for road accident victims.
