Habitat for Humanity of Kitsap County

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. We work in partnership with low- and very low-income families to lift them from substandard housing to a decent house in a decent neighborhood.

HFHKC has built 75 homes with families in need in Kitsap County!

Habitat is not a giveaway program. In addition to a down payment and the monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest at least 400 hours of their own labor (sweat equity) into building their house and the houses of others.

Habitat carries out its mission at the community level through organized groups that we call affiliates. Habitat for Humanity of Kitsap County is such an affiliate. In partnership with Habitat for Humanity International, we give 10% of our income to fund the building of Habitat homes in 86 other countries around the world.
