Tanzania ecoVolunteerism(TeV) is a Tanzanian Non-Governmental Organisation working through environmental and community oriented volunteerism to empower the knowledge rich and economically poor rural communities; by adding value in their contemporary creativity as well as traditional knowledge, as a life changing experience.
Our Mission Statement
TeV is investing in the Tanzanian Rural Communities in promoting our individual skills, prospects thus giving us the ability to lift ourselves out of poverty. TeV is working with rural communities, to use our culture and arts in social settings to change and influence policy and practice, since they are collectively contributing to our future. TeV projects replicate the best practices of fighting poverty, conflict, ill health and injustice. The remedy to self-reliance is in our own backyard!
Our Vision
Economic growth for Tanzanian Rural Communities depends on improvement of women’s lives, children and youth; to the extent in which the communities minimize dependence on natural resources and focus on skills. We need to understand how they are collectively contributing to our future and to resolving some of the challenges we face.
Our Approach
Participatory Development Methodologies (PDM) is the centerpiece of our approach to sustainable development. Grassroots communities’ programming is community driven and community owned.
Our Partners
TeV and communities conceive, design, evaluate and implement all projects in partnership. TeV strives for the integral development of the communities, while respecting our cultural values. We strive for equitable partnerships and participation in our work locally and internationally.
