Run For Congo Women-Chicago

This event is a 5K run/walk in Chicago's LIncoln Park on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 at 8:00 (registration). This event began as a grassroots attempt to bring awareness to the civil war in Congo...which has claimed over 5 million lives...and the numbers of human rights violations/ gender based violence are staggering. Very few were talking about these horrors...so through this event we can be a voice for the Congolese. Please visit runforcongowomen.org.
