About Us

We are an all volunteer ran US-based 501-(c) 3 founded in 2007 dedicated to improving birthing outcomes in the greater Naivasha area in Nakuru County, Kenya.

FON started as an international partnership between US-based volunteers and donors and Kenyan-based Fair Trade Flower Farms, community leaders and the District Hospital. We build a brand new maternity center and health clinic, equipped with modern equipment and staffed by specially trained nurses and midwives. This 100 bed hospital opened in 2013 and continues to operate at capacity. As part of an agreement with the county government, FON is transitioning complete management and funding to the District Hospital of Nakuru County.

With the mission to build a modern and safe birthing hospital accessible to all women in the area complete, FON has expanded our focus to reduce infant mortality by partnering with Rotary International, World Vision and Egerton University to expand access to high quality healthcare to the rural areas surrounding Nakuru County.
