We are looking for both Administrative and Direct Patient Care Volunteers. Volunteers provide emotional support and companionship, comfort and respite to our patients and families. Three qualities necessary for being a hospice volunteer are: dependability, good listening skills, and a desire to help others. A medical background is not necessary, and our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds, professions and age groups.
Administrative Volunteers: Assist with administrative needs in our offices-filing, data entry, mailings, phone calls, etc.
Direct Patient Care Volunteers: Visit patients in nursing facilities and homes, provide companionship with emotional and spiritual support to patients and/or families, and make calls to patients and/or families on regular basis.
Volunteers can give as much or as little time as their schedules allow.
