About Us

Our mission is to improve human health and well-being by promoting mutually beneficial relationships with animals and using them as examples of God's unconditional love. PAWS for Service trains, certifies and places therapy dog teams in the greater San Antonio area. PAWS members and their dogs volunteer their time to encourage, support and comfort people in hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, veteran installations and schools for children at risk.

We like to say that we spread doggie joy!

If you have a dog that loves people and gets along great with other dogs, visit our website for information on how to fill out an application to become a member. We provide training and certification. We work with you to place you in a facility that is close to home and works with your schedule.

PAWS for Service has been in existence for over 20 years. We are recognized by the AKC and affiliated with the R.E.A.D Program (whose mission it is to improve literacy skills of children using therapy dog teams as mentors).

If you are interested, please visit our website: www.PAWSforService.org and click on "application". Once you fill it out, you will receive a detailed email from our organization explaining how to become a PAWS for Service Therapy Dog Team. Our next class starts late January 2020 and we will be taking applications through January 4th.
