Rebuilding Together San Diego

About Us

Rebuilding Together San Diego (RTSD) is a local affiliate of the largest National volunteer home rehabilitation organization in America. Established and independently run since 1995, this 501 c (3) non-profit, grassroots organization preserves and renovates homes for low-income homeowners and revitalizes neighborhoods throughout San Diego.

In partnership with corporate sponsors, in-kind donors and big-hearted volunteers, we assist seniors, veterans, people with disabilities and families with children who own their home, however due to age, physical limitations and low or fixed incomes are not able to make their housing repairs themselves. Community non-profit facilities are also beneficiaries of our efforts, as resources are available. All services are at no cost to the recipients.

RTSD operates various programs: Our Safe At Home Program is a minor home "honey-do list" of repairs; We have a Roof repair/Replacment program; Taking it To the Streets is a tool lending program to support other organizations who coordinate neighbor clean-ups and grafetti abatement and our flagship event, Rebuilding Day held in April, renovates 10-15 projects with the help of over 1,100 volunteers.

In effort to maintain affodable housing in San Diego, RTSD is engaged in the acquistion/rehab/sale of foreclosed properties, offering them low to moderate income buyers, firemen and policemen .
