St. Vincent de Paul Workforce Development Services

About Us

St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore’s Workforce Development Services offers three occupational skills training courses and a drop-in employment resource center.

Next Course is a 16 week, full time, intensive food service training course that combines classroom instruction with hands-on experience in the KidzTable production kitchen, and ServSafe certification. Students will be involved in the production of 6,000 meals a day for children in the Baltimore area. Participants advance through four levels of training based on their mastery of skills. Next Course was modeled after an innovative, highly successful program called FareStart in Seattle Washington.

Health Careers Academy offers training courses in medical terminology and phlebotomy while integrating customer service skills training into the course curriculum.

Kid Careers Academy offers a 99 hour Early Childhood Education Course and a 45 hour Infant and Toddler Course. The training courses provide intensive curriculums combined with life and employment skills, one-on-one case management and career development support. Hands-on experiential learning is combined with classroom-based learning to fully prepare the students for the workforce. The 45 Hour Infant and Toddler Certification provides the student with the certification required for employment in infant and toddler childcare. The 99 Hour Early Childhood Education Certification provides the student with the Howard Community College certification required for employment in childcare.
