The Caux Scholars Program

From July 20- August 16, 2014, the Caux Scholars Program (CSP) 2014 will be offering a learning experience in "Exploring Justice: Transitional, Restorative and Indigenous Applications" in Caux, Switzerland. This unique program is designed specifically for young professionals and students from around the world (ages 20-35) seeking to learn about peacebuilding and the transformation of conflict through the lens of Transitional and Restorative Justice. Classes are a mix of lecture and interactive styles.

One major feature of CSP is that students will participate in one of the Caux summer conferences which will give students the chance to attend lectures and presentations about various topics, and also to connect, discuss issues, and share ideas with political and religious leaders, as well as people in the media, and leaders from international and grassroots organizations. Last year scholars were asked to report-back to from the various issue groups.

While CSP is especially relevant for students interested in or currently pursuing advanced degrees or careers in International Relations or Conflict Resolution, there has always been a strong representation of those in Media, Communications, Sociology, Education, Business, Law and Politics. Since its inception in 1991, the course has 409 alumni from 103 countries.

Our alumni are working with the UN in Darfur, Nigeria, Sri Lanka and Rwanda, with their governments in the U.S., South Africa, Serbia and Latvia, in business, as journalists and educators, as lawyers - including working in human rights and as mediators, as ministers of the church and as volunteers.

CSP will gladly work with students who are interested in getting independent credit for this program. Tuition is $3400 and includes room and board.
