The Happy Beetle

  • About Us

We provide subscription door-to-door pick-ups of “hard to recycle” items and other items that accumulate in our houses. These items can’t be placed in our municipal recycling bin, but also don’t belong in our trash bins.

We do everything we can to ensure the items are utilized for their best use. Here’s how we categorize those options:

    1) Reuse!

Our goal is to give your goods a 2nd life in their original form. If it can be reused, we will find a home for it.

    2) Reimagine

Some things are too far gone, but can certainly be reimagined by our community. We work with local schools, artists, and innovators to give your stuff a new purpose.

    3) Recycle

Sure recycling sounds like a great option, but recycling is often a difficult and resource-intensive task. If we can’t find an organization to reuse it, we’ll be sure it makes its way to the proper facility.

    4) Certified responsible disposal

Unfortunately, some lightbulbs and household batteries contain dangerous materials, like mercury, that aren’t recyclable. In these instances, we work with organizations that possess industry-leading certifications ensuring that their practices are environmentally sound.

Driven by a focus on the triple bottom line (People, Planet, and Prosperity for the Community), we aim to build the circular economy in Denver and beyond. Nature has designed a flawless circular system. Humans suck at it. But, we are trying to change that fact by making it easier for residents and businesses to divert resources from the landfill.
