Navigating Aging Needs LLC (NAN) is a new digital company that provides guidance to family caregivers of patients with Alzheimer’s.

For 25 years, Dr. Rosemary Laird has helped family caregivers successfully navigate the needs of their aging parents. Through NAN, Dr. Laird hopes to make it possible for every family caregiver to get expert, compassionate support navigating the medical, emotional, legal and social challenges faced by their aging loved ones.

Dr. Laird is recognized for her expertise. She was voted Geriatrician of the Year by the American Geriatric Society and appointed to Florida Alzheimer’s Disease Advisory Committee.

NAN is all about helping children help their parents. Before they were business partners, Dr. Rosemary Laird helped Patty Allman navigate the aging needs of her father during the last six months of his life. Since then, Rosemary and Patty have worked together to find a way to provide this kind of support to every family caregiver. 

Patty is an award-winning pioneer in social entrepreneurship with 20 years of experience creating and running small businesses that bring together medical experts and digital technology to improve public health.

• We assess the medical, emotional, social and legal/financial risk of the family caregiver.
• We develop a plan to address these risk factors and reduce the stress of caregiving for family caregivers.
• We meet virtually (Zoom or phone) with the family caregiver monthly to implement the plan.
• Nan has sophisticated technology, tools and resources to support our social workers in their one-on-one relationships with family caregivers.

Our Navigators are the primary contact point for family caregivers enrolled in the NAN subscription service, ensuring that they have the information, resources, and support they need to be successful caregivers to their loved ones. Our Navigators are responsible for assessing the caregiver’s and loved one’s needs across a range of health and lifestyles areas, creating and helping maintain a customized care plan to support themselves and their loved one, and developing and nurturing a trusting relationship with each family caregiver.
