About Us

The Greene County Convention & Visitors Bureau operates under the authority of the Board of County Commissioners as a non-profit economic development organization funded by a 3% lodging tax collected from visitors to Greene County motels, hotels and some B&Bs. The Bureau seeks to increase the number of visitors to the county by (1) directing sales and marketing efforts at meeting planners, sporting events planners and leisure travelers (2) providing extensive free services to groups holding their meetings in Greene County; (3) making decision-influencing information available in multiple mediums (print, Web, mobile, social) and (4) participating in and financially supporting the development of new not-for-profit travel and tourism destinations.
