Curriculum Testing aims to generate evidence and insights around curriculum effectiveness and helps ascertain pedagogies, content, and learning experiences that are working at scale or need improvement. The function hopes to be interdisciplinary in taking on different research methodologies forward and collaborating with curriculum and state teams closely.  

Role & Responsibilities: 

• Understanding the curriculum objectives deeply
• Conducting surveys, interviews, classroom observations and focus group discussions to evaluate the outcomes of the curriculum
• Developing simple and effective tools that help test hypotheses 
• Documenting and managing the transcription and translation processes 
• Data analysis and drawing insights on the pedagogy, content, and students’ learning experiences
• Data presentation
• Organizing regular debriefs with the curriculum and state teams to disseminate the findings
• Stakeholder engagement with government school principals, teachers, and students

Knowledge & Skills:

• Well-versed with research methodologies of interviews, FGDs, and surveys 
• Data management
• Data analysis and presentation
• Understanding of large-scale education programs 
• Good oral and written communication in English and Hindi
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse set of people  
• Adept at technology
• Understanding of public systems and government stakeholders

Other Requirements: 

• An experience of 1-2 years in either research, impact evaluation, classroom pedagogy, or grassroots education fellowships 
• Masters in education, social science, or a related field or experience in the education sector for 2 years
• Willingness to travel to government schools in both rural and urban locations 
• Highly creative and entrepreneurial 

Compensation:  Aligned with the market compensation norms of the development sector. 

Commitment: 6 Months -Full time.

Location: Madhya Pradesh & Uttarakhand, with the willingness to travel to research sites as necessary.
