Description

Neighborhood Funders Group (NFG) seeks an Operations and Events Coordinator to support its growing operations needs and to strengthen NFG’s capacity to host its biennial National Convening. Under the leadership and supervision of the Vice President of Finance and Operations, the person in this role will work with the Vice President of Programs, NFG staff, and NFG members to coordinate the operations needs for each National Convening, as well as coordinate administrative tasks to support the Vice President of Finance and Operations. This is a regular full-time, non-exempt position.

NFG’s National Convening is the gathering place for funders to learn about and become activated to resource long-term organizing and power building efforts related to social change movements in the United States. The Operations and Events Coordinator will be a vital part of the logistics team, helping all of the key stakeholders to join regular meetings, learn about and procure vendors and consultants, ensure payments are delivered in a timely manner, and support onsite logistics during the National Convening. The Coordinator will work within the finance and operations team to support daily operations and administration based on our finance and operations protocols and policies, as well as coordinate specific tasks to support the Vice President of Finance and Operations’ schedule. The ideal candidate is a strong and self-motivated operations and administrative coordinator who shares NFG’s commitment to its mission.

BACKGROUND

NFG’s mission is to organize philanthropy to support grassroots power building so that BIPOC communities and low-income communities thrive. Together with our member network of over 140 grantmaking organizations and 1,500 individuals, NFG engages philanthropic institutions and their staff across the U.S. to accelerate racial, gender, economic, disability, and climate justice by moving more philanthropic dollars to local organizing and local power building led by Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities, low-income communities and workers, rural communities, LGBTQIA and gender non-conforming people, women, and immigrants.

NFG offers a political home for funders to learn directly from movement leaders on issues like gentrification and displacement, multiracial rural organizing, and the changing landscape of workers’ rights. Our programming goes beyond learning, to action: we call on funders to co-conspire to support transformative movements — collaborating and aligning to advance justice. All of our programming is grounded in our histories, strengths, and struggles; and centers Black, Indigenous, and people of color leaders in places, movements, and philanthropy. For more information about NFG’s programming, visit www.nfg.org.
