The Role

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the daily operation of the Mobile Crisis Team and Crisis Stabilization Team, providing clinical assessment and evaluation services in the community, and supervising all related program staff. As a supervisor, this person is responsible for the overall direction and coordination of the MCT and Crisis Stabilization Team. They carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the ASG Handbook and perform planning, assigning, directing work, appraises performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. This employee is considered to be essential personnel.

What You’ll Do

  • Establishes and monitors work schedules and coordinates/grants staff leave
  • Ensures coverage of shifts   
  • Provides two shifts weekly of MCT coverage
  • Ensures appropriate follow-up with clients admitted to the CRS until discharge per protocols
  • Responsible for all case documentation     
  • Collects, inputs and reports required data
  • Responsible for the integrity of data inputted
  • Responsible for training and orienting new staff/interns to core competencies including use of the EMR
  • Provides clinical backup for MCT and Crisis Stabilization Team, as needed
  • Audits open cases per Standard Operation Procedures
  • Provides emergency staff coverage in MCT and Crisis Stabilization Team, if needed
  • In collaboration with the Director, develops policies and procedures and ensures that they are routinely implemented
  • Develops and provides community education and trainings on requested topics
  • Participate in the rotation as the acting on-call supervisor
  • Participates in community boards and committees, as needed
  • Check work e-mail according to agency protocol
  • Participate in and complete all required trainings
  •  Other duties as assigned

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field of study.
  • Must possess and maintain current licensure in the State of Maryland (ie: LCSW-C/LCPC). Must be a Board Approved Supervisor.  
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual shall have knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook). Must be able to be trained on Electronic Consumer Record software.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to drive a company vehicle. The employee must possess a valid Driver’s License, proof of current automobile insurance and may not have more than two (2) points on their driving record.
  • Must be able to work individually as well as within a team, be able to multi-task and able to work with “high-risk” consumers who have mental illnesses as well as developmental and physical disabilities (ie: must have patience, and must be able to effectively communicate with diverse consumers, etc.). We expect all staff to have a strong desire to provide excellent customer service; to comply with the rules and regulations of those organizations to which we are accountable; to have high ethical and professional standards of conduct; and to have an attitude of wanting to continuously improve their own professional performance.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. This is a fast-paced position with constant activity. The employee must be able to quickly escape from an emergency situation, which may include running, climbing, balancing or crawling. Must have adequate visual acuity to interact with the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and accurately input data. Will need to move about up to 75% of work shift either on-site or in the community. Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of work shift.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee may be required to ride in a vehicle for extended periods of time and walk to wherever is necessary to perform assessment. As we operate as a 9AM-12AM/365 day per year service, Clinical Coordinator’s must be available for day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts, as scheduled. While every effort may be made to create a schedule that meets the individual staff person’s needs, the schedule is created first and foremost to meet the needs of the program.
