Description

Development Lead

Division: Development

Reports to: CEO

Role: Full-time, Regular, Exempt

Location: Nashville, TN

Who we are:

People Loving Nashville (PLN) is a grassroots organization, established in 2008, whose goals are to bring Relief, Community, Connection, and Restoration. Led by the words and acts of Jesus, we listen to our neighbors experiencing hardships and  partner with our community to build towards dignity, healing and sustainability.

We do this by building a consistent and safe community starting with relief - food, clothing, & survival supplies to the most vulnerable on the streets. Through developing trusted friendships we provide additional connections to resources, from IDs to housing navigation. We also offer a holistic approach within our Restoration program to provide a place to work and heal at our flagship coffee shop Paradeisos where we meet people during the critical period of stepping off the streets and into their new homes.  PLN has touchpoints in the entire journey of walking from homelessness to homefullness.

Below are some of our consistent gatherings in our approach to share relief, community, connection and restoration to the streets.

  • Monday Street Outreach, our largest street outreach, is held in the heart of Downtown Nashville.
  • Wednesday Encampments, we visit specific encampments that receive little or no other assistance.
  • Thursday Homefullness Outreaches, we serve micro-income apartment complexes where many friends from the streets find their first stable home.
  • Wednesday through Friday our Restoration Program, provides body, mind, & soul enrichment resources to help newly housed individuals learn, grow, & heal from trauma to help them become sustainable within housing again through work.

Our organization comprises six different departments:

  • The Administrative department keeps the organization moving forward by handling all of the finances, organizational development, HR, and general administration.
  • The Development department uses the power of storytelling to inspire, educate, and invigorate our community to see their neighbor through the lens of love & dignity.
  • The Relief and Community departments oversee all arrangements to put on each weekly gathering as well as other community initiatives both involving volunteers, staff, and partners coming together to set a table to meet immediate physical needs as well as spiritual and emotional needs as well.
  • The Connection department works to handle the individual care of friends and neighbors the organization chooses to work alongside to build uncomplicated bridges to resources ranging from ID’s to physical and mental health to addition and recovery as well as housing navigation.
  • Lastly, our Restoration Program walks alongside those who have transitioned or are transitioning off the street to build a path to sustainability through creative therapy, life skills and employment opportunities.
