Hybrid (90% Telecommute / 10% Office). Must be reside in the State of California.  


EMPLOYMENT STATUS:

SALARY RANGE:

Human Resources Partner $66,560 – $84,754 annually  / Senior Human Resources Partner $67,477 – $98,817 annually 

We base salary and position offers on experience and an internal equity analysis.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Under the direction of the Human Resources Leadership, the HR Partner will provide exceptional HR services to support all operations across organization’s units and departments. Responsibilities will include routine and complex work in all functional areas of Human Resources. 

  

Under the direction of the Human Resources Leadership, the Senior HR Partner will provide strategic and tactical HR services to support all operations across the organization’s units and departments. Responsibilities will include routine and complex work in all functional areas of Human Resources. This position supervises up to two people. 


The HR Partner/Senior HR Partner is a trusted partner to the HR Department, each employee, and the Organization Leadership. The HR Partner will have a solid understanding of the Organization and all HR functions with a strong focus on providing an excellent employee experience. The HR Partner provides timely support in the following areas: Talent, On & Offboarding, Benefit Administration, HRIS, Compliance, Reporting, Analytics, Process Design & Improvement, Performance Development, Employee Relations plus provides administrative support with the day-to-day activities of the HR team. The HR Partner is required to assist in other areas of the HR functions, including projects and other HR related tasks.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

HR Partner essential functions include:

- Direct the talent process with hiring managers to attract, conduct interviews, and hire individuals for open positions. Partner to ensure a positive candidate experience. 

- Conduct reference, background, and eligibility checks prior to first day of employment

- Achieves a welcoming and informative HR in-person or virtual onboarding experience. Launches, monitors, and evaluates New Hire experience surveys. 

- Coordinates and facilitates in-person and / or virtual New Employee Orientation, Benefits open enrollment and employee recognition programs. 

- Input and update employee information or changes in the HRIS. 

- Performs routine tasks to administer, evaluate, and monitor Human Resource programs including but not limited to talent acquisition, onboarding, compensation, benefits, leaves of absence, reasonable accommodations, corrective actions; disputes and investigations; performance development; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety, Learning and development, and offboarding.

- In collaboration with managers, the HR Partner processes electronic employee action notices for all updates, differentials, corrections, and changes. 

- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors. Refers complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

- May facilitate, attend, and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

- Completes and processes loan related information and verification of employment for current and former employees. 

- Maintains compliance with organization, federal, state, and local employment laws, and regulations, and recommended best practices. Reviews policies and practices to recommend updates and maintain compliance.

- Act as HRIS champion and data owner. Collect and analyze Human Resources data to prepare reports and to make recommendations related to all functional areas of Human Resources and the employee experience. 

- Completes compliance audits, remedies findings and reports status updates to HR Leadership monthly.  

- Maintain HR files in accordance with local, county, state, and federal standards. Scan documents to employee electronic files. 

- Review and distribute incoming electronic mail from shared mailboxes. Process physical mail to appropriate HR staff. 

- Support HR projects and Initiatives. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.

- Be a strong advocate for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access



The Senior HR Partner essential functions include:

- Leads the talent process with hiring managers to attract, conduct interviews, and hire individuals for open positions. Ensures a positive candidate experience. 

- Ensures compliance of reference, background, and eligibility checks prior to first day of employment

- Leads a welcoming and informative HR in-person or virtual onboarding experience. Analyze New Hire experience surveys and make recommendations to leaders within the organization to revise, update, or improve onboarding experiences. 

- Facilitates in-person and / or virtual New Employee Orientation, Benefits open enrollment and employee recognition programs as required. 

- Validates and approves employee information or changes in the HRIS. 

- Performs routine tasks to administer, evaluate, and monitor Human Resource programs including but not limited to talent acquisition, onboarding, compensation, benefits, leaves of absence, reasonable accommodations, corrective actions; disputes and investigations; performance development; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety, Learning and development, and offboarding.

- In collaboration with HR Partner, the HR Partner verifies electronic employee action notices for all updates, differentials, corrections, and changes.

- Maintains compliance with organization, federal, state, and local employment laws, and regulations, and recommended best practices. Reviews policies and practices to recommend updates and maintain compliance.

- Act as HRIS champion and data owner. Analyze Human Resources data to prepare reports and to make recommendations related to all functional areas of Human Resources and the employee experience. Completes monthly metrics dashboard. 

- Completes compliance audits, remedies findings and reports status updates to HR Leadership monthly.  

- Maintain HR files in accordance with local, county, state, and federal standards. Scan documents to employee electronic files. 

- Review and distribute incoming electronic mail from shared mailboxes. Process physical mail to appropriate HR staff. 

- Lead HR projects and Initiatives. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.

- Be a strong advocate for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Senior HR Partner - Up to two Human Resources Employees - Interview, hire, train and retain up to two direct reports. This includes planning, assigning, and directing work; regularly evaluating performance and providing ongoing feedback; addressing complaints and resolve problems of direct reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

(Applicants MUST meet EACH of the minimum qualifications to be considered for an interview.)

HR Partner

- Three or more years of demonstrated progressively responsible experience in Human Resources. This amount of verifiable experience may be substituted with the completion of an HR Management Certificate,  AA / AS,  or  BA / BS degree in Business, Human Resources, or related area of specialty plus relevant Human Resources Experience. 

- Verifiable knowledge and application of at least 3 functional areas of Human Resources. 

- Positive relationship building and conflict resolution skills are required. 

- Exceptional problem-solving and expert decision-making skills are required. 

- Verifiable experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) software and/or Applicant Tracking Systems required. Experience with Paylocity is a plus. 

- Direct experience with MS Office to include proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel. 

- Experience working effectively as a team member in a multiple-priority unit. Experience prioritizing and completing multiple competing duties / projects. 

- Experience working with and maintaining sensitive and confidential information required.

- Demonstrated leadership with all colleagues in the organization.

- Possess excellent organizational skills with an emphasis on detail.  


  Senior HR Partner

- Five or more years of demonstrated progressively responsible experience in Human Resources. This amount of verifiable experience may be substituted with the completion of an HR Management Certificate,  AA / AS,  or  BA / BS degree in Business, Human Resources, or related area of specialty plus relevant Human Resources Experience. 

- Three years of verifiable experience leading, supervising, and mentoring of Human Resources employees. 

- Two years of experience with handling complex Employee Relations and/or Reasonable Accommodations

- Verifiable knowledge and application of at least 5 functional areas of Human Resources. 

- Positive relationship building and conflict resolution skills are required. 

- Exceptional problem-solving and expert decision-making skills are required. 

- Verifiable experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) software and/or Applicant Tracking Systems required. Experience with Paylocity is a plus. Experience with HRIS implementation is a plus.
