Hours variable - some weeks will be over 20 hours to meet deadlines; other weeks totally free. This job is 100% remote, but we prefer candidates in the Tri-state area who can travel to Rhinebeck and New York City for occasional meetings and events.

Description

Rhinebeck Writers Retreat seeks a detail-oriented individual for the newly created position of part-time Development Assistant. Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Development Assistant will support all fundraising. Duties include researching and writing grants to foundations and for government awards, handling individual donor acknowledgements, assisting with the annual gala, and other duties as may be assigned. This is a part-time position and is fully remote.

Duties include:

Database & Mailings: Update the databases (Salesforce and Constant Contact) with all donor information and generate reports and mailing lists. Ensure immediate acknowledgement letters to donors, coordinating signatures and personal notes with ED.

Grants: Maintain grants calendar with deadlines. Communicate about upcoming deadlines for grants and final reports, write grant proposals with ED’s assistance, research new grant possibilities with GrantStation.

Annual Appeal:  Coordinate end-of-year mailing campaign.

Annual Gala:  Assist with organization and planning, with ED and Board Gala Committee, of annual November Gala.  Manage RSVPs, track all payments, assist with promoting by e-news, assist with the event day-of activities.

Other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

Completion of some college-level work. At least 3 years of experience working with an organization, preferably a not-for-profit arts organization. Strong writing skills, attention to detail, initiative, and analytical thinking. Database and Microsoft Office Suite knowledge including mail merges, reports. Professional friendly demeanor and curiosity about people. Passion for musical theater.
