Job Posting: Development Coordinator

IRIS offers refugee resettlement assistance, intensive case management, and immigration legal services to the low-income refugee and immigrant community in greater Los Angeles. We seek to provide gracious welcome as well as tangible tools and connections to help new arrivals achieve self-sufficiency in the United States. As a small nonprofit (approximately 25 full-time staff), we strive to accompany clients with a personal touch, enhance their quality of life, expand community awareness of client needs, develop partnerships with other organizations, and advocate on the local, state, national, and international levels for refugee and immigrant needs and rights.
IRIS seeks to hire a Development Coordinator (our first) as we expand and reorganize as an independent non-profit after nearly 20 years as a successful, fiscally sponsored agency. The Development Coordinator, in coordination with the Manager, Budgets and Grants, and the Executive Director, will plan, manage, and coordinate IRIS’s development efforts including building new strategies for expanded funding; identifying, cultivating and soliciting donors; and overseeing writing proposals and reports with accompanying budgets, thank you letters and other correspondence, planning events, soliciting corporate donations for events, and ensuring all necessary documents for grants management and audit purposes.
This position reports jointly to the IRIS Manager, Budgets and Grants, and the Executive Director.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Requirements:
Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000
Ideally, we seek to fill this role as a full-time, exempt position. We will also consider filling the position on a contract, part-time, or other flexible work arrangement basis.
The Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health (medical, dental and vision coverage), retirement and generous vacation/holiday policy. The Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles is an equal opportunity Employer. IRIS offers a hybrid working arrangement, with a partial work-from-home option after 6 months employment, and a 39-hour workweek.
To apply: Send your resume, cover letter and two references to IRIS Executive Director Troy Elder at telder@ladiocese.org. In your materials, please explain how your background and interests are at this time pointing you toward a position that uplifts others.
