Salesian Missions is the main fund-raising facility in the U.S. for the Salesians of Don Bosco, a Roman Catholic charity founded by Don Bosco in 1845. Our office is located in New Rochelle, N.Y. and employs approximately 75 individuals.

We are seeking a experienced full-time Direct Marketing Professional. Our ideal candidate must be proficient in MS Office and have strong math and English skills. You must be precise and detail oriented, a multi-tasker, highly organized, and able to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent time management skills a must.

You will work directly for the Direct Marketing Supervisor, assisting in a variety of simultaneous duties that relate to multiple fundraising appeals on individual schedules. You will be responsible for coordinating the creation and mailing of a quarterly donor newsletter and will direct a copy writer, data team, and desktop publisher in this endeavor.

Responsibilities will include:

• Heavy proofreading/approval of print proofs with deadlines
• Approval of appeal imaged copy prior to mailings
• Bid requests to vendors and purchase orders
• Light administrative duties
• Inventory tracking
• Some copy editing/creative work for publications
• Overseeing Data Processing with mailing list instructions on a few smaller mailings per year.
• Desirable qualities would include:
• BA/BS in marketing.
• Employment or educational background in direct mail marketing, writing, or English disciplines.
• Volunteer or employment experience with non-profit organizations, especially fundraising.
• Bi-lingual Neutral Spanish – proficient in professional usage and grammar for translating written correspondence and proofreading.
