Description

Exhale to Inhale empowers survivors of domestic and sexual violence to transform their lives by using the practice of trauma informed yoga, while helping communities to develop skills and knowledge to support survivors. ETI places trained teachers at shelters and facilities to deliver trauma-informed classes throughout the year. 

Exhale to Inhale brings the healing power of yoga to survivors of domestic & sexual violence, especially those who could benefit from the practice, yet might not otherwise have access to it. 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Communications and Event Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the communications and events efforts of the nonprofit organization. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communication Strategy:
  • Support a comprehensive communication strategy to effectively convey the organization's mission, programs, and impact to stakeholders.
  • Create engaging content for diverse communication channels, including website, social media, newsletters, press releases, and marketing materials.
  • Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication platforms.
  • Content Creation and Management:
  • Produce written, visual, and multimedia content that highlights the organization's initiatives, success stories, and fundraising efforts.
  • Support content calendars to schedule and organize communications effectively.
  • Collaborate with program staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries to gather compelling stories and testimonials.
  • Social Media Management:
  • Manage and maintain the organization's social media presence across platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Develop engaging social media campaigns to raise awareness, drive engagement, and foster community participation.
  • Monitor social media channels, respond to inquiries, and engage with followers to cultivate meaningful relationships.
  • Event Coordination:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of events, including fundraisers, donor appreciation events, volunteer orientations, and community outreach activities.
  • Handle all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, catering, invitations, registration, and audiovisual requirements.
  • Work closely with vendors, sponsors, and partners to secure support and resources for events.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers, community partners, and other stakeholders through regular communication and engagement opportunities.
  • Support donor cultivation and stewardship efforts by providing timely updates, acknowledgment letters, and personalized communications.
  • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, training, and recognition initiatives to ensure a positive volunteer experience.
  • Brand Management:
  • Uphold the organization's brand identity and messaging guidelines in all communications and events.
  • Ensure that all promotional materials and collateral accurately represent the organization's values and objectives.
  • Evaluation and Reporting:
  • Track and analyze the effectiveness of communication campaigns and event outcomes using relevant metrics and feedback mechanisms.
  • Prepare reports and summaries to evaluate the impact of communications efforts and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Previous experience in communications, event planning, or nonprofit management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences and platforms.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools, content management systems (CMS), and graphic design software is desirable.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for the mission and values of the nonprofit sector, with a commitment to social justice, equity, and community engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Experience working with volunteers, donors, and diverse communities is a plus
  • Commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in the workplace.
  • Commitment to practicing a growth mindset: the ability to receive and implement feedback.
  • Willingness to work remotely and regularly participate in co-working sessions and in-person program activities in the NYC metro area required.  
  • Must be located in the NYC metro area.

$20 per hour at 25-30 hours per week
