Description

Homes First!, a Thurston County, WA, 501C(3) nonprofit, works to develop, own and manage affordable housing for lower income Thurston County residents unable to compete in today’s housing market. It seeks to encourage and use broad public and private participation and resources to reach its goal.

Formed in April 1990, Homes First! grew out of a task force concerned about the homeless, whose members joined with other community residents concerned about the problem of affordable housing. Homes First! is now working to increase the supply of affordable housing for community members in need.

Since 1990, Homes First! has been acquiring, renovating, and preserving affordable rental housing for low income families, individuals, and people with special needs. Currently we own and manage 42 rental units. Income from rents goes to maintain the housing, provide staff oversight, and help fund future affordable housing projects.
