About Us
The mission of Orang Utan Republik Education Initiative (OUREI) is to facilitate conservation education regarding the endangered orangutan so that it will be saved from extinction.
To support this mission, OUREI will build awareness throughout Indonesia about the orangutan and its plight. OUREI will also assist organizations in Sumatra and Borneo with education grants for projects and programs that have the best chance of improving attitudes and perceptions about orangutans while eliminating or reducing ignorance, misconceptions and fear of the species. OUREI will also develop curricula, provide fellowships, organize workshops, and raise awareness globally about the plight of the orangutan.
