  • About Us

The mission of Music On The Inside, Inc. (MOTI) is to utilize music as a positive healing force in connecting incarcerated youth and others in corrections with seasoned musicians to foster supportive relationships, creative expression and hope. With music as the connector and mentorship as the key, MOTI will inspire focus, creativity and the courage to follow through on a new life. There is growing concern about the current level of mass incarceration and the urgent need for programs to develop skills and build self-esteem needed for life after prison. We are working with Wynton Marsalis, Jon Faddis and others in the jazz and classical communities, to mentor, teach and advocate for music in corrections.
