Chief Development Officer (Volunteer Position): This is a part-time remote opportunity.  We are looking for a volunteer, who strives to make a difference and contribute to making the world a better place.

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Development Officer to join our global nonprofit startup. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CDO will play a crucial role in driving funds growth, developing strategic partnerships, and expanding our global presence. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact and shape the future success of our organization and impact the world. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to meet fundraising goals and expand the donor base.
  • Coordinate and manage fundraising activities, including grants, major gifts, corporate and individual sponsorship, and events.
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders, donors, and partners.
  • Maintain ongoing communications with private and corporate donors.
  • Develop fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Ensure timely and accurate report deliveries to funders.
  • Collaborate with staff on the management and planning of fundraising events and donor receptions.
  • Develop print marketing collateral related to fundraising in collaboration with our marketing team.
  • Train, mentor, and lead a team of fundraising volunteers.
  • Prepare and make presentations to board members, donors, and investors.
  • Oversee a donor database and tracking system.
  • Comply with all relevant regulations and laws, maintain accountability standards to donors, and ensure compliance with the code of ethics for fundraisers.

Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Director of Development or in a similar senior fundraising role in nonprofit sector.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully driving funds growth and achieving ambitious targets.
  • Proficient in major fundraising techniques, including but not limited to major gift fundraising, planned giving, and corporate fundraising.
  • Tangible experience of having expanded and cultivated existing donor relationships over time.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with a high level of comfort with public speaking.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders, including staff, board members, donors, and volunteers.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in fundraising software.
  • Knowledge of federal and state legislation affecting charities and donor restrictions.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, nonprofit management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred) or equivalent experience 
  • Global mindset and experience working in diverse cultural contexts, with an understanding of international markets and trends.
  • Tech-savvy user and understanding of how to use project management tools (ie: ClickUp), Telegram, and Google Drive
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Proactive in your approach, creative, and focused on delivery/teamwork
