Description

Annual Red Nose Day Event Uniting To Combat Childhood Poverty For Low Income Students " By Donating School Supplies, Toiletries & Healthy Snacks & Gifts For Honor Roll Students

The Red Nose Day campaign is dedicated to raising money for children living in poverty and/or by providing healthy snacks, school supplies, hygiene kits and a special gift (toy) given to all children in the school who have made the Principal's Honor Roll List.

About This Event:

Red Nose Day is a national campaign dedicated to raising money for children and young people living in poverty. This year our Red Nose Day is Thursday March 14th. On this day people all across the country unite against poverty by coming together to have fun, raise funds and raise awareness.

Unfortunately, we discovered that the inner-city children in our communities derived no benefit from these campaigns. Referencing their circumstances and situation, for the past seven years, through our organization, we have been providing healthy snack bags, gender specific personal hygiene kits, school supplies and a special gift for all those who made the Honor Roll and/or the Principal's list.  Done simultaneously with the National Red Nose Day event designated to combat childhood poverty, not able to help everyone, we decided to adopt all 425 of the children at one particular inner-city school where we were already providing health services and where, on the day of the event, volunteers are also needed to set up and distribute the donated items.

Muslimat Al Nisaa Shelter & Inge Benevolent Ministries, Healthy Solutions Wellness Ministries and Souls In Harmony believes in a just world free from poverty. We reach out to the homeless, the uninsured, the undocumented, the impoverished and those living in low-income housing.

For children in underserved school districts, the cumulative learning loss is greater than their peers in more resourced schools.  Children in poverty faced an uphill battle long before the pandemic including more crowded classrooms, lack of adequate supplies, textbooks and technology.

Because like minds think alike, in uncertain times such as these, our children must still be our priority.

On this day we are committed to help as many impoverished families as possible. It should kindle in us a sense of consciousness leading to acts of CHARITY towards all Children of Adam.

Money raised and items donated during the Red Nose Day campaign helps us make a difference in the lives of the less fortunate.

FYI: The collection extends from February until the day before the event. The drop off location is different from the day of the event which occurs at the elementary school distribution site revealed to onsite volunteers.
