What do we do?

Teamup is at the forefront of leveraging technology for social good through our pioneering "Apps For Good" initiative. We enable college students to build impactful software solutions, focusing on crucial issues like environmental conservation, support for at-risk populations, and innovative communication tools. Our platform offers college students the unique opportunity to develop functional prototypes and working pilots under the guidance of industry professionals.

Introducing the IOS/Swift Tech Mentor Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced IOS/Swift Tech Mentor to join our Apps for Good program, where college students develop real-world projects to address social issues and community needs. As the IOS/Swift Tech Mentor, you will guide and mentor a team of students in building innovative iOS applications that make a positive social impact.


Timeline

Mentorship starts on Monday, May 20th, 2024, and ends on Friday, August 23rd, 2024.

You can choose to mentor one or multiple teams online.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to a team of college students working on iOS applications for social good
  • Collaborate with students to design, architect, and implement high-quality, user-friendly iOS applications using Swift programming language
  • Review code, provide constructive feedback, and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards
  • Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to help students enhance their iOS development skills
  • Facilitate Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Assist students in troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges
  • Encourage a positive and inclusive team environment that fosters creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in iOS development and share knowledge with the team


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of iOS SDK, Xcode, and other relevant tools and frameworks
  • Expertise in designing and implementing clean, modular, and maintainable code
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Passion for mentoring and helping students grow their technical skills
  • Commitment to creating positive social impact through technology


Preferred:

  • Experience leading or mentoring development teams
  • Familiarity with other mobile development platforms, such as Android
  • Contributions to open-source projects or personal iOS app projects
  • Experience with social impact projects or community-driven initiatives
