Do you enjoy reading? Do books on tape interest you? How about a little of both? The Braille Institute Library is looking for volunteers with a "good ear" to read and listen to recordings to check for accuracy.

Braille's educational, social, and recreational programs are provided in an environment of hope and encouragement, seeking to reinforce the confidence, self-esteem, and dignity of those who are visually impaired and enabling them to live, attend school, and work as they choose.
What to Expect:
• Silently read texts of books and compare it to recorded versions
• Log any errors that change the meaning of the text
• Use Windows Media Player to keep log with descriptions of errors or missing lines, using (hrs: mins: seconds) format
*Volunteers will not read books for recording purposes at this time.
What's Required:
• Ability to read and comprehend (grade 7-9 level) text
• Attention to detail
• May require sitting in one position for long periods
• Comfortable with repetitive task(s)
• Prior knowledge of Windows Media Player helpful
• Ability to work in quiet, little to no foot traffic environment
