The Human Rights Research Center (HRRC) advances human rights through accessible, multidisciplinary research. We bridge the gap between academic scholarship and the general public by transforming rigorous research into clear, engaging, and actionable knowledge that informs advocacy and drives meaningful change.

Founded in 2021 by researchers and colleagues, Deanna Wilken and Eli Szydlo, the Human Rights Research Center (HRRC) is an international, volunteer-led organization dedicated to making human rights research accessible beyond academic spaces.

HRRC researchers explore human rights issues of their choosing, fostering a multidisciplinary and globally focused body of work. We believe that academic knowledge should not be locked behind jargon, paywalls, or disciplinary silos. To that end, we prioritize clarity, accessibility, and public engagement in all our publications.

Our research outputs are designed for broad audiences and available in various formats, including written reports, visual publications, and audio-based work. We use tools such as in-text hyperlinks and glossaries to ensure complex concepts are understandable to non-specialists without sacrificing rigor.

HRRC’s work extends beyond research alone. We use our findings to inform advocacy, educate the public through evidence-based analysis, and support efforts aimed at implementing tangible human rights protections. By connecting research, education, and action, HRRC seeks to contribute to a more informed, accountable, and rights-respecting world.
