EASVRM is a Kenya based social venture with activities focused in Kisii County where it implements the Kisii Smart Community with the support of international donors. EASVRM specializes in the developing and implementing SDG interventions, utilizing innovative business models, designing digital tools and leveraging clean energy technologies to further rural development. In particular, EASVRM has developed a rural e-mobility platform to provide first-and-last-mile logistics to rural farmers and agroprocessors. We deployed our initial project in Kisii and Nyamira Counties, The Kisii Smart Community (KSC). www.kisiisc.org . Our platform to extend our sevices to other parters and communities is called Songa Mobility, https://www.songa.mobi/platform.

KSCs objective is to catalyze rural economic empowerment, microentrepreneurship and rural African development through the deployment of electric vehicles as part of a first/last-mile delivery platform. This objective is integral to the overall challenge of our mission: leveraging electric mobility to sustainably close the “proximity gap”; while creating jobs for youth and women in the low-carbon economy.

We are looking for a highly motivated Business School Intern who can bring a unique perspective to our innovative team.

Job Role and Responsibilities

You will be representing Kisii Smart Community in the capacity of a Business School Intern/Associate with the following roles:

• Development and implementation of clean-energy, e-mobility, bio-sequestration, climate finance and rural economic development interventions.
• Assisting in financial analysis and forecasting.
• Overseeing deployment of e-mobility assets amongst various stakeholders and clients.
• Assisting in market research to identify new opportunities.
• Contributing to the planning and execution of marketing strategies.
• Maintaining and improving the performance of ongoing operational tasks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should be pursuing a degree in Business, Management or a related field, and possess:

• Strong business insight and a strategic mindset
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Good knowledge of business analytics and latest technology trends
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with SQL a plus
