    Description

    Aqua Terra Aeris Law Group (“ATA”) is a private, public interest law firm, dedicated to protecting the California environment and public health. ATA seeks to hire an Associate Attorney for work in all aspects of prosecuting claims under a wide variety of state and federal environmental and consumer protection laws, including the Clean Water Act, California Environmental Quality Act, Endangered Species Act, Clean Air Act, Proposition 65, Public Trust Doctrine, and more. ATA is comprised of a team of experienced trial attorneys and staff with a track record of securing court wins and effective solutions for clients.

    Responsibilities

    • Work closely with ATA partners, associates, staff, clients, and consultants, to build and prosecute citizen suit litigation, and governmental enforcement, in the public interest.
    • Participate in all phases of administrative advocacy and complex litigation, including factual investigation, legal research, memo writing, briefing, and oral advocacy.

    Requirements

    • Working knowledge of major state and federal environmental statutes
    • Superb analytical, research, and writing skills
    • Excellent communication and public speaking
    • Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
    • Willingness and ability to occasionally travel throughout California
    • Ability to work independently and in a largely virtual office
    • Preference for residence in San Francisco Bay Area, but full-time remote work will be considered
    • Ability to work closely with others in a small-firm setting
    • Creativity and can-do attitude
    • Demonstrated commitment to working in the public interest
    • Preference for 1-5 years of post-law school litigation experience
    • California bar admission or sitting for July exam

    We offer a comprehensive benefits package. Base salary, with potential for discretionary bonuses based on individual and firm performance, is comparable to leading national nonprofit law firms and the California Attorney General’s Office.
