Part-time Finance and Accounting Manager

The part-time Finance and Accounting Manager at foundry10 oversees essential financial operations, reporting, and strategic planning initiatives across the organization. They manage day-to-day accounting processes, collaborate with internal teams to maintain financial accuracy, and contribute to the development of systems that promote transparency and efficiency. Additionally, the Finance and Accounting Manager plays a key role in the annual budgeting process from supporting the development of the budget to the review and final delivery of the budget for approval. This role involves both independent and team-based work and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an ability to communicate financial information timely and clearly.

This position is part-time at 20 hours per week, based in Seattle, WA and may require occasional travel to the main office for collaboration. This is an exempt position that reports directly to the CEO. The salary range for this position is $6,500 to $9,034 per month, DOE.

Responsibilities

Core Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts
• Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare monthly financial reports for CEO and internal teams
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
• Generate year-end tax forms for 1099 contractors
• Provide ad hoc financial data requests, including items such as data needed for business insurance renewal
• Liaise with tax accountants to provide data needed for annual federal income tax returns and external tax audits, and all supporting or explanatory documentation

Accounts Payable

• Assist with issuing philanthropic donations, scholarships, and donation receipts
• Provide accounts payable support as needed

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Collaborate with teams to support budgeting processes and monitor expenses
• Assist in annual budgeting and long-term financial planning
• Analyze budget to actual financial information to identify trends and variances, provide explanations on significant variances, and make recommendations as needed
• Help teams with training on tools, finance-related questions, and adjustments

Payroll

• Process payroll and related journal entries
• Ensure timely funding of 401k contributions, company match, and transmit payroll data and 401k information to third-party administrators for plan testing and filing

Compliance & Documentation

• Oversee internal audits and tax preparation efforts
• Ensure compliance with accounting best practices, financial regulations, and organizational policies
• Maintain financial records and documentation systems

Team Collaboration & Special Projects

• Work across departments to offer financial guidance for new projects or initiatives
• Support the development of efficient workflows and contribute to systems/process improvements

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 4-7 years of professional accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices
• Mastery of accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks) and Excel
• Familiarity with collaborative tools (e.g., Google Suite, Monday.com, Slack, Zoom)
• Proficiency with Paylocity desired
