    The Opportunity

    This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, equity-driven, and detail-oriented professional to join a growing mission-centered organization working to expand economic opportunity for justice-impacted people and communities. Beyond $avvy Consumers is seeking a Grants and Communications Manager to lead our grants strategy, donor communications, and funder engagement efforts.

    This role is responsible for managing the full grants lifecycle—from prospect research and proposal development to reporting, compliance, and funder stewardship. The ideal candidate will also lead the development of compelling, equity-focused content that elevates our work and impact.     The Agency

    Through innovative initiatives like Expanding Access to Economic Equity, Advancing Wealth and Financial Sustainability (AWFS), and Navigating Socioeconomic Barriers to Wealth Building, Beyond $avvy Consumers is doing its part to disrupt generational asset poverty, raise awareness, and advocate for inclusive economic systems. We equip people and communities—particularly those impacted by the criminal legal system—with the tools and support to navigate financial barriers, build sustainable wealth, and participate fully in the economy. Our work centers equity, empowerment, and systemic change to advance economic justice at individual, institutional and systemic levels.

    This is a fully remote role for anyone located in any region within the Eastern Time Zone

    Key Responsibilities

    Grant Writing & Research

    • Find the Right Opportunities: Research and identify new funding prospects that align with our mission and programs.
    • Tell Our Story: Write clear, compelling grant proposals and applications that communicate the urgency and value of our work.
    • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with program and leadership staff to gather data, outcomes, and stories for use in grant materials.
    • Align with Development Strategy: Ensure all proposals support the organization's overall fundraising plan and priorities.

    Grant Management & Compliance

    • Oversee the Full Lifecycle: Manage awarded grants from start to finish, including compliance, deliverables, and internal tracking.
    • Ensure Accountability: Track and report on grant-funded activities and ensure adherence to funder expectations.
    • Coordinate with Finance: Monitor budgets, expenses, and reporting deadlines in collaboration with the finance team.

    Funder Relations & Reporting

    • Report on Impact: Develop and submit timely and accurate narrative and financial reports that demonstrate impact and transparency.
    • Maintain Relationships: Serve as a point of contact for funders and build meaningful, long-term partnerships.

    Financial & Data Management

    • Use CRM Effectively: Maintain organized, accurate records in Salesforce or equivalent CRM platforms.
    • Budget Tracking: Ensure funder requirements align with actual spending and budget plans.

    Process Improvement

    • Optimize Systems: Evaluate and improve internal grant processes for greater efficiency and impact.
    • Stay Current: Maintain knowledge of best practices in fundraising and grant management.

    Required Qualifications

    Candidates must meet all of the following to be considered(please do not apply if you have not worked with our focus population listed below)

    • 3-5 year minimum of grant writing and grant management experience
    • Demonstrated success in securing and managing institutional funding
    • Proficiency in Salesforce or comparable donor/grant CRM systems
    • Graphic design and Canva experience, particularly for outward facing collaterol
    • Professional experience working in or with criminal justice-related agencies or serving justice-impacted communities; working with Google Suite, Instrumtl or any other CRM's.

    Preferred (Not Required)

    • Experience managing or supporting fiscal sponsorship relationships
    • Familiarity with fundraising for housing initiatives, direct service programs, health equity, or policy and advocacy work

    Please Note:

    This position requires specific qualifications related to grant writing, Salesforce, graphic design, and experience with criminal justice-related initiatives. Candidates who do not meet these required qualifications will not be considered.

    There will be a screening process followed by two separate interviews. There is a quick turnaround for hiring.
