    About the Organization

Health Career Connection (HCC) is a national force for health workforce development that builds generations of health leaders and professionals who are from and reflect the communities we serve and have the capabilities and commitment to improve health for all. HCC partners with health employers, health professions schools, and national, state, and regional collaboratives to meet emerging health workforce, excellence and health improvement goals. HCC has been fulfilling its mission for 35 years and operates its proven programs in 14 regions across the country. HCC's over 5400 alumni serve as leaders and professionals in healthcare, public health, behavioral health, primary care and life sciences. HCC has primarily been an earned income model supported by its services and has also been supported by foundation grants and institutional partnerships.

HCC is at an exciting inflection point in its fund development. With recent major grants demonstrating programmatic excellence and growing recognition of HCC's impact, the organization is positioned to build a more diversified revenue portfolio.

    Position Summary

The Development Director will have the unique opportunity to create and implement HCC's first comprehensive fund development program. The organization brings significant assets to build upon: an engaged board with extensive healthcare, foundation, and corporate relationships; thousands of accomplished alumni now in leadership positions across healthcare; strong institutional partnerships and a strong pipeline of institutional funders; and a compelling mission that resonates deeply with individual donors interested in healthcare equity and workforce development.

The Development Director will be responsible for creating and executing a $6-8 million annual fund development plan — managing foundation relationships, individual giving, board engagement, and annual fundraising campaigns. Currently, grants, contracts, and events comprise $6 million in revenue, and this role will create a comprehensive plan that increases opportunity in each of these streams while building strategies in individual giving (including with alumni, and entry-, middle-, and major-level supporters).

    • Identify and secure corporate sponsorship opportunities (healthcare and non healthcare).

    • Provide regular updates on fundraising progress
    • Design training and resources for board fundraising success

    • Create and document development policies and procedures
    • Oversee gift processing and acknowledgment
    • Produce fundraising reports and analytics
    • Maintain development calendar and timeline
    • Ensure compliance with grant deliverables and fundraising regulations (ethical, legal, etc)
