    Description

    Union-side labor and employment law firm located in lower Manhattan seeks a paralegal/legal assistant to work 5 days per week. The right applicant should be well organized, detail oriented, and capable of performing mathematical calculations and analysis in Excel.     Responsibilities:

    • Organizing, analyzing, and summarizing large sets of data in Excel, including bargaining unit demographic information and employee time and pay records;
    • Creating analyses and projections of employment and economic data, in order to assist attorneys with labor contract negotiations;
    • Calculating damage estimates in Excel;
    • Prepare, proofread, and file legal papers;
    • Assist with discovery, investigation, and research, among other activities;
    • Manage and organize databases and case files;
    • Interact with clients, courts, witnesses, and adversaries;
    • Assist in other areas of our daily operations as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • A 4-year college degree
    • Strong math and data management analysis skills
    • Ability to learn and understand complex software
    • Ability to handle and complete multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
    • Excellent typing, Microsoft Word and Excel skills
    • Strong organizational and time management skills and an ability to prioritize
    • Strong attention-to-detail, spelling and grammar skills
    • Ability to think critically and analytically, and exhibit sound judgment
