    Town of Chatham, MA seeks a highly qualified, collaborative and innovative clinical professional to serve as Chatham’s newest Behavioral Health Community Service Clinician!

    Under administrative direction of the Director of Community Services and in direct partnership with Chatham Public Safety Departments, Department of Community Services and the Chatham Emergency Working Group (CHEWG), the Behavioral Health Community Service Clinician will help to identify individuals and/or families suffering with behavioral health disorders and/or substance abuse disorders and to intervene and assist when necessary.

    This position acts as an internal referral source to divert persons of all ages in behavioral health distress away from criminal justice system involvement and direct them toward appropriate care and services. The Behavioral Health Community Service Clinician performs assessments specific to acute psychiatric conditions, formulates and facilitates rapid linkage to appropriate levels of care and accesses relevant services for clients through collaboration with relevant service providers. The position will participate in co-response with public safety personnel as a routine function of the role.

    The ideal candidate will have a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services or a related field and two years of relevant experience working with adults with mental illness and substance use disorder. Must possess a valid Massachusetts Class D driver’s license. Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. Will be subject to successful completion of criminal background check. Certification in CPR and First Aid preferred; must obtain certification within 12 months of hire.

    Starting annual salary is $95,293.95 - $97,179.26 ($3,665.15 - $3,737.66 biweekly) depending on qualifications and experience. Position is covered under the Chatham Personnel Policies. The Town of Chatham values diversity and welcomes candidates of all backgrounds to apply.
