    We are currently in search of a Communications Manager at a nonprofit organization with a mission to support and provide resources to at-risk girls for economic empowerment in African countries. The position is a full-time permanent remote role in USA.

    LOCATION: Remote

    POSITION TITLE: Communications Manager

    DURATION: Full-time, Permanent

    SALARY: $65k - $68k

    Our Ideal Candidate:

    • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field.
    • Proven experience in a communications role, preferably in the non-profit or global development sector.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on journalistic storytelling.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful communication strategies.
    • Experience with social media management, digital content creation, and digital marketing.
    • Deep sensitivity to gender equity and empowerment narratives.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.

    How You Will Spend Your Day:

    Strategic Communication Planning:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with organizational goals.
    • Serve as a communications advisor to the Executive Director and senior leadership.

    Storytelling & Content Creation:

    • Create compelling written and visual content for newsletters, blogs, donor outreach, website, and social media.
    • Elevate the stories of program participants to inspire support and awareness.

    Media Relations:

    • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
    • Identify and leverage media trends for proactive and reactive storytelling opportunities.
    • Prepare spokespeople for media engagements and interviews.

    Social Media Management:

    • Manage and grow the organization’s presence across key platforms.
    • Develop and implement data-informed campaigns to increase engagement and reach.

    Internal Communication:

    • Facilitate clear, consistent communication among internal teams and across global operations.
    • Ensure organizational alignment around messaging and mission.

    Crisis Communication:

    • Develop and implement crisis communication plans to protect organizational reputation and ensure rapid response.

    Collaboration & Capacity Building:

    • Work collaboratively with global and local teams to gather information and maintain brand consistency.
    • Provide communication training and strategic guidance to partner organizations in Kenya.
