The UCLA Latino Policy & Politics Institute (LPPI) seeks a dynamic professional to serve as our Development Director. LPPI champions nonpartisan, evidence-based domestic policy solutions that improve the economic, political, and social landscape for Latinos and other communities of color in states and localities across the U.S. LPPI leverages UCLA's cross-disciplinary strengths to create an enterprise-wide home for Latino social policy with expertise in over a dozen issue areas including civil rights, criminal justice, educational equity, health access, housing, and voting and civic participation. LPPI fosters innovative research, leverages policy-relevant expertise, drives civic engagement, and nurtures a leadership pipeline to propel viable policy reforms that expand opportunity for all Americans.
Position Summary
As the Director of Development for the UCLA Latino Policy & Politics Institute (LPPI), your fundraising expertise, strategic vision, and ambition will directly contribute to LPPI's mission of addressing critical domestic policy challenges impacting Latinos and other communities of color through research, advocacy, mobilization, and leadership development. The Development Director will support LPPI's long-term sustainability by leading a broad range of fundraising activities, including foundation and government grants, gifts, and contracts. Key responsibilities will involve identifying, cultivating, and stewarding foundation partnerships, managing a portfolio of foundation funders, overseeing grant proposal development, and collaborating with LPPI Directors and researchers to maximize institutional funding opportunities. You will also work closely with LPPI leadership, staff, and the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs development team to implement a strategy for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding general and major gift prospects to grow LPPI's endowment. This role demands a seasoned professional who can formulate long-term plans, develop key constituencies, and identify prospects for contracts, grants, and gifts. The ideal candidate is a confident public speaker, a strategic thinker, an exceptional writer, and a fundraising expert with a proven track record of securing and managing foundation grants and individual gifts. Previous experience in research and policy is preferred. The Development Director will collaborate closely with the Faculty Director and LPPI leaders, while also establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key individuals and offices within UCLA Luskin School and UCLA External Affairs. Please note, this is a hybrid position.
Salary & Compensation
UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Visit

Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree or Master's or equivalent in priof professional experience in a related field such as sales, marketing or business development. (Required) And
