    Since 1979, NAMI Chicago has fought for families and individuals impacted by mental health conditions. NAMI Chicago promotes community wellness, breaks down barriers to mental health care, and provides support and expertise for families, professionals, and individuals in Chicago and beyond.

    The next CEO of NAMI Chicago will take the helm of a revered organization with strong brand recognition in advocacy and mental health services. The incoming CEO will be deeply committed to advancing mental health equity with a clear understanding of the systemic barriers and complexities of mental health conditions and will champion community-driven solutions that prioritize the voices of those with lived experience. The ideal candidate will continue our legacy as a systems disruptor while ensuring our priority remains on those facing the most significant mental health challenges and their families. In partnership with the leadership team and board of directors, the incoming CEO will envision and set strategic direction, priorities, and goals for the future. The incoming CEO will build and sustain a strong executive leadership team to ensure the successful execution of the organization's mission, vision, strategic plan, priorities, and goals.

    Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO has overall responsibility for a projected FY26 budget of approximately $13.5 million and a staff team of 140 talented professionals. Internally, the CEO is responsible for the implementation of policies, programs, operations, and fiscal stability of the organization. The CEO also works to build a strong leadership team and to support an organizational culture of wellness and care for a productive and dedicated team. Externally, the CEO serves as a primary public representative of NAMI Chicago, serving as a leader of the public conversation around mental health, and thereby provides leadership in advocacy, public policy, fundraising, and community involvement activities. An important function of this position is to be a visible, consultative leader in resolving systemic challenges affecting members of the community.

    The salary range for this position is between $200,000 and $250,000 and will be commensurate with experience. The comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, group life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and EAP benefits program. NAMI Chicago observes fifteen paid holidays each year and offers generous Paid Time Off as well as Sick Leave.
