What You'll Be Doing
The Program Director of Community Outreach manages an exciting portfolio of responsibilities that strengthens relationships between the CSI and students, faculty, staff, and community partners across three main areas:
1) Social Impact Pathways
2) Oversee Community Partnership Development and Signature Events
3) Coordinate Alternative Break Programming

Summary of Responsibilities
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Supervision of Social Impact Pathways Fellows & Pathways Programming: Recruit, train, and supervise six Social Impact Pathways Fellows, each assigned to one of the six pathways of social impact; Support Fellows in leading monthly pathways newsletters, skills-based workshops, and podcast episodes in collaboration with community partners; Oversee Fellows as they plan and lead Alternative Spring Break trips, ensuring alignment with ethical engagement practices and pathways learning goals; Mentor Fellows in developing strategic programming that fosters interdisciplinary learning and meaningful community collaboration and that develops them as compassionate community leaders.
Alternative Breaks Oversight and Development: Direct the coordination and implementation of Alternative Break trips, including fall and spring break experiences; Establish best practices for trip planning, student leader training, community partner collaboration, and risk management; Supervise and manage all trip planning logistics, including recruitment, transportation, food, lodging, and community partner communications; Facilitate pre- and post-trip orientations, trainings, and reflections, connecting experiences to pathways of social impact and long-term student development; Ensure trip programming reflects ethical, student-led, and community-informed engagement.
Social Impact Seminar Teaching & Development: Teach the one-credit Social Impact Seminar course, offering an introduction to the six pathways of social impact and real-world applications; Incorporate guest speakers and applied learning into the curriculum; Collaborate with faculty and departments to embed interdisciplinary approaches to social impact education across campus.
Community Partnerships Management and Event Coordination: Manage community partner database, intake process, and feedback and assessment; Serve as a primary point of contact for helping connect community partners with students, faculty, and Center initiatives; Lead planning and execution of partner-facing events, including the semesterly Social Impact Fairs and Social Impact Markets, as well as community partner socials, ensuring strong student-community connection points; Support community partner alignment with the six pathways of social impact and related student programs.
Carry out other duties necessary to the success of the programs and other projects within the Center for Social Impact, including assisting in executing events and office support
