    Description

    FULL-TIME POSITION \\ FULLY REMOTE \\ $150K+ BENEFITS

    * Deep experience in nonprofit, education, and philanthropy is required. **

A highly reputable, privately held communications firm is seeking its next senior leader to oversee its most extensive practice: Digital Engagement—a strategically informed integration of Media Relations, Social Media, and Digital Services. With clients in education, advocacy, and social justice, this is an opportunity to join an Agency that truly impacts lives through its work. The ideal candidate is an insightful leader who always has the big picture in mind. As the Director of Digital Engagement, you will serve on the leadership team, oversee a portfolio of clients, manage a dynamic group, and play an active role in managing and growing the business.

Equal parts senior communications consultant, empathetic and empowering leader, and insightful business manager, the ideal candidate is someone who can anticipate client and staffing needs to see around corners within a growing business. Specific responsibilities and duties are below.

We need a director who will:

Design and execute comprehensive digital engagement strategies that deliver nuanced and complex messaging across platforms while leveraging platform trends and performance insights to optimize content, reach diverse audiences, and elevate client thought leadership.

Build digital campaigns that don’t just reach a range of audiences but engage those audiences in meaningful ways: audience growth on channels, website traffic, engagement with content, membership boosts, and more. You will define and deliver on engagement for impact.

Audit clients’ existing marketing strategies, researching what works in their specific industry, studying what competitors or similar campaigns are doing, and predicting upcoming trends in the digital landscape that could impact a client and/or their campaign.

Identify opportunities across clients and Collaborative workstreams to build out strategies for engagement, including events, research, and traditionally non-digital projects.

Work on multiple clients concurrently, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Build a best-in-class set of metrics and a digital dashboard that effectively shares the impact and engagement of your audiences.

What You Bring to This Position:

    • Deep experience and background in the education, nonprofit, and philanthropic fields.
    • Leadership experience guiding teams and skill building for both team members and clients.
    • Excellent ability to design and articulate—in proposals, in pitches, and with a range of audiences—the unique opportunities in digital engagement inside traditional mission-driven communications plans.
    • Native familiarity with digital marketing, social media strategy, integrated campaign development, and advocacy communications, ideally at the nexus of all four.
    • Strong background in short-form storytelling, identifying audiences, and pairing down information and data into bite-sized messages that will best reach those audiences.
    • Understanding the various ways of designing and delivering digital content, from social graphics to real-time engagement, and having an instinct for new forms of digital storytelling, particularly those that achieve social impact.
    • Knowledge of best practices for audience engagement and community management across different platforms.
    • Experience using social media analytics tools to track and report on performance.
    • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
    • Strong work ethic and a detail-oriented approach.
    • Ability to effectively work on multiple accounts concurrently.
    • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to meet deadlines.
    • Consultancy or agency experience preferred.
