GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION
Amid today’s resurgence of grassroots organizing and heightened calls for racial justice, pointed efforts must be made to engage young people in local communities. The New York Office of the American Friends Service Committee will contribute to this effort during our 2025 in-person Liberation Summer Youth Advocacy Training Camp. Our focus will be empowering young people with the skills and strategies, including using the arts, to advocate for healing in our criminal and immigration legal systems. We are seeking an intern to join us in this work.

COMPENSATION
This position is a non-exempt position, Salary Family: Intern. Job Code: Intern. Starting hourly rate is $20 per hour. There are no medical, dental, or life insurance benefits, short-term or long-term insurance benefits with this position. AFSC does participate in unemployment, worker’s compensation, and social security.
