    Description

    Are you interested in starting your AmeriCorps service on or after August 16, 2025? Consider serving with Notre Dame Mission Volunteers AmeriCorps in Atlanta! Gain valuable experience while serving your community!

    This is an AmeriCorps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. To serve in AmeriCorps you must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States. Please do not inquire if you do not meet these requirements.

    Notre Dame Mission Volunteers develops leaders through education and compassionate service that sparks confidence to learn and agency to transform disenfranchised communities. NDMVA members in Atlanta provide direct in-person service at schools, community centers and non-profits. All positions are designed to provide academic assistance for grades K-12 or to provide adult education in the form of literacy classes, job readiness or job training.

    Responsibilities may include:

    • Planning and preparing for afterschool program and summer camp activities
    • Attending programs and helping with activities, including conducting one-on-one check-ins and assisting high school students with homework and college preparation
    • Plan and lead group sessions and classes
    • Provide small group supportive sessions supporting English language learning and workforce skills education
    • Work with lead instructor to plan and deliver daily classes with curricula focused on basic through intermediate language learning, digital literacy skills, workforce and job readiness skills, and integrated life skills
    • Deliver group classes of 5-10 people and workshops on financial literacy topics such as banking, budgeting, credit building, managing debt, and taxes
    • Assist in recruiting and training 25+ volunteers to tutor and mentor elementary youth in after school

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
