    Description

    The Jewish Funders Network works with Jewish philanthropists at the individual and collective levels to improve the quality of their giving. Our members maximize their impact as they make the change they want to see in the world. JFN leverages the power and the creativity of networks to produce impactful outcomes for its members.

    The Data Specialist will be trained and supervised by the Senior Manager of Membership Operations. Throughout the project, the Data Specialist will undertake several data projects for the Membership Department, using interpersonal skills and resourcefulness to research members and perform data hygiene. The specialist will be provided with the opportunity to develop skills related to project management, organization, research and database enhancement, customer service, and communication.

    Specific tasks and functions of the role:

    The specialist will perform the following data functions:

    • Researching data sources to verify and update constituent records, including biographical data, contact information and professional skills and demographics.
    • Manually inputting and batch updating member data from surveys, Excel spreadsheets, and application forms using standardized formats.
    • Assisting with special data hygiene and data audits for quality and accuracy, including tagging nonmember records, deleting duplicate and outdated or irrelevant data.
    • Support Senior Manager in organizing, tracking, and documenting member interactions and information as needed.
    • Adding bios for Foundations and Federations to database records.

    Qualifications/Preferred Skills:

    • Familiarity with YourMembership or other MMS preferred or basic understanding and comfort with a variety of CRMs and Content Management Platforms.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel, Word and Outlook as well as Google Sheets.
    • Good typing and data entry experience is preferred.
    • Resourcefulness; the ability to research and collect data in a timely fashion.
    • A keen eye, strong level of concentration, and attention to detail.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively as needed via phone, zoom, and email.
    • Exhibit professional, courteous behavior; polite persistence; problem-solving skills, as well as a friendly and professional demeanor.
    • Prior experience in customer service, data entry or related fields is a plus.
    • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.

    Job Type: Temporary [part-time] and remote

    Work Schedule: 28 hours for 7 weeks or 20 hours for 10 weeks

    Remuneration: $16.50 an hour

    Location: mid-town Manhattan, On-Site, preferably at least two days per week
