    Description

    Are you interested in starting your AmeriCorps service on or after August 16, 2025? Consider serving with Notre Dame Mission Volunteers AmeriCorps at the “I Have a Dream” Foundation! Gain valuable experience while serving your community!

    This is an AmeriCorps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. To serve in AmeriCorps you must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States. Please do not inquire if you do not meet these requirements.

    Notre Dame Mission Volunteers develops leaders through education and compassionate service that sparks confidence to learn and agency to transform disenfranchised communities. The "I Have A Dream" Foundation (IHAD) provides individualized social, emotional, and academic support to young people ("Dreamers") from under-resourced communities from kindergarten all the way through college, along with guaranteed tuition support. NDMVA members at IHAD will help further IHAD’s ability to deliver services to the youth in the program and their families.

    Responsibilities may include:

    • Assist with the planning, organizing, and delivering of appropriate activities to support students' academic, socio-emotional needs, and parent partnerships
    • Mentor students on a regular basis
    • Plan and lead group sessions and classes
    • Tutor students during academic programming, one-on-one or in small groups
    • Support volunteer tutors and mentors
    • Plan Meaningful And Fun Field Trips
    • Develop college and career awareness and job training activities for students

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
