    Description

    Are you interested in starting your AmeriCorps service on or after August 16, 2025? Consider serving with Notre Dame Mission Volunteers AmeriCorps at St. Malachy’s Catholic School in Philadelphia! Gain valuable experience while serving your community!

    This is an AmeriCorps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. To serve in AmeriCorps you must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States. Please do not inquire if you do not meet these requirements.

    Notre Dame Mission Volunteers develops leaders through education and compassionate service that sparks confidence to learn and agency to transform disenfranchised communities. St. Malachy’s Catholic School is a K-8 Catholic school with a strong focus on building a supportive and engaged school community.

    Responsibilities may include:

    • Support teachers and the school support team with classroom assistance, one-on-one tutoring, and emotional support for students
    • Help manage and maintain the school’s Peace Room- a dedicated space for social-emotional growth
    • Help coordinate after-school enrichment programs in areas like media literacy, performing arts, and team sports, often in collaboration with community organizations
    • Work with 4th-8th grade students to plan and lead service learning projects and community outreach efforts
    • Serve as liaison between the school’s Dean of Students and local service partners

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
