    Development Coordinator (Part-time, New York)

    Inside Climate News is seeking to hire a part-time development coordinator to help support the day-to-day fundraising and business operations of the organization.

    Job Description

    The Development Coordinator position is a flexible role requiring approximately 20 hours a week, with the possibility for growth.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Support various fundraising needs of Inside Climate News, such as accurately recording donation information, writing and sending gift acknowledgements, and replying to inquiries from supporters
    • Support various business needs of Inside Climate News, such as scheduling and managing logistics for meetings and workshops; completing and submitting operational paperwork, and tracking co-publications
    • Work within our Salesforce and Mailchimp accounts to support data management, record keeping, and communications
    • Other related duties as requested

    Like the rest of ICN’s staff, this position will work remotely, with occasional visits to the Brooklyn office to check the mail and deposit checks.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree and administrative, nonprofit, or customer service experience
    • Ability to communicate well and in a professional manner with any person
    • Strong organizational skills and careful attention to detail
    • Strong customer service skills and collegiality
    • Ability to work independently and proactively, with a desire to learn
    • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office
    • Experience preferred in managing data, records, and spreadsheets
    • Experience preferred in using Salesforce, Mailchimp, Canva, and Adobe Creative Cloud

    Founded in 2007, Inside Climate News is an independent, nonprofit, non-partisan news organization covering the biggest crisis facing our planet. With 36 full-time staff members, we operate one of the largest and most influential environmental newsrooms in the country.

    We have a nucleus in New York, a presence in Washington D.C., and staff working from California to Florida, in Texas, Alabama and Kentucky, Colorado, Ohio and Massachusetts. Good ideas propel the operation, wherever they originate.

    Compensation

    $20-$25/hour, commensurate with experience.
