Position

Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Employment Coach will assist in administering One

On One’s Employment Program by providing one-on-one employment coaching and case

management services with the goal of helping participants find, prepare for, and retain long-term

employment. In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate must be justice

driven, passionate about the workforce development sector, willing to learn from others, and

enthusiastic about working directly with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

About One On One

Our mission is to affirm the dignity of individuals and families in underserved communities

through meaningful employment. Our approach focuses on the individual by pairing job seekers

with one on one personal coaches throughout their job search process. In addition to one-on

one coaching, participants complete soft skills training to learn how to de-escalate conflict,

communicate clearly and effectively, and to make informed and consistent decisions.

Responsibilities

Employment Coaching and Support 80 %

• Meet with clients for one-on-one sessions focused on employment, conducting activities

including but not limited to: writing resumes, completing job applications, coaching for

interviews, career planning and goal setting, and supporting soft skills development in

communication, conflict resolution, and decision making

• Identify individualized employment leads for each client assigned, providing referrals to

educational, training, and other social services as needed

• Maintain up-to-date referral resources for client case load

• Match job leads with qualified candidates by coordinating with program staff

• Screen eligible clients for job placement opportunities, providing industry specific coaching

to prepare clients for interviews or trial shifts

• Continuously encourage and motivate clients to work on their job search outside of

coaching meetings

• Collaborate directly with hiring managers at partner companies to ensure successful

placements

Community Outreach 10%

• Meet monthly participant recruitment goals by reaching out to community partners and

developing an active recruitment strategy

• Develop relationships with local employers, including businesses, nonprofits, and public

sector organizations to establish ongoing employment opportunities for One On One

participants

General Duties 10%

• Enter data at all points of client interaction in a timely manner

• Report weekly and monthly data as required to maintain accurate program-based statistics

One On One

and grant requirements

• Actively participate in weekly case conferences with program staff

• Adhere to all One On One policies and procedures

• Work on-site, at partner sites, or remotely for satellite cohorts

• Other duties as assigned

• Program work may require on-site location at partner sites throughout the city, candidate is

required to have reliable transportation to access multiple programming locations

Qualifications

• 2 years of workforce development experience strongly preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field preferred

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required

• Exceptional ability to build relationships with program participants and community

stakeholders

• Strong organizational and administrative skills, including effective time management and the

ability to work and make decisions independently

• Demonstrated ability to be adaptable and continuously contribute to team objectives in the

face of evolving priorities

• Experience preparing and giving presentations to diverse audiences

• Excellent multi-tasking and detail-orientation skills

• Proven ability to maintain confidential information and exercise discretion

• Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Google Drive, Salesforce proficiency a bonus

Details

One On One offers an exciting opportunity to a nonprofit professional. This position reports

directly to the Director of Programs. One On One offers generous time off including 11 paid

holidays and an all office paid closure from December 24th-January 1st, employer sponsored

medical and dental insurance, and 401(K) options with a 3% employer match.

Please note that One On One requires that all employees are fully vaccinated against COVID

19, including eligible boosters, and provide proof of vaccination to the Executive Director. This

is a Full-time exempt position and is in-person.
