    Director of Programs

    Part-Time | Hybrid (20 hours/week- Tuesday in-person | $38,000–$48,000 | Brooklyn, NY

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Extreme Kids & Crew (EKC) is entering its next chapter, and we're looking for a bold, compassionate, and strategic Director of Programs to help lead the way. The ideal candidate will have experience working with neurodivergent youth and their families and a deep commitment to disability justice.

    This role is perfect for someone who is collaborative, culturally sensitive, brave and has a good sense of humor. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Director of Programs will oversee and manage the program team, ensuring that knowledge of disability and support for neurodivergent communities remain at the heart of all EKC programming.

    The Director will also lead and expand beloved EKC initiatives, including monthly Family Gatherings, Powerful Parents, and Employee Resource Group (ERG) programs, bringing them to new communities across New York City.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Leadership

      • Supervise and mentor program staff, including the Program Manager.
      • Design and implement internship opportunities to build team capacity and foster professional growth.
      • Collaborate with families, youth, and community leaders to ensure that programming is responsive and grounded in participants' experiences.
      • Support relationship-building with schools, arts institutions, and mission-aligned partners.

    Program Administration

      • Develop and monitor program budgets with the Executive Director and Director of Finance.
      • Lead a multi-year strategic programming calendar.
      • Contribute to grant writing and program design in collaboration with the Development and Program teams.
      • Ensure compliance with all funder, partner, and regulatory requirements.
      • Manage logistics with vendors, sites, and contractors to ensure smooth program delivery.
      • Collect and analyze program data to support continuous learning, reporting, and strategic decisions.

    SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

    Required:

      • Strategic thinker and out-of-the-box problem solver.
      • Knowledge of and/or experience within the disability/ neurodivergent community.
      • Demonstrated leadership with emotional intelligence and bravery.
      • Collaborative, flexible, and team-oriented mindset.
      • Strong project/program management skills.
      • Cultural competency and a deep commitment to equity and inclusion.
      • Familiarity with navigating NYC and its boroughs.
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Preferred:

      • Experience with nonprofit budgeting.
      • Skilled in meeting facilitation and community engagement.
      • Prior collaboration on grant applications.
      • Fluency in Spanish or Mandarin.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

      • Part-time hybrid role: 20 hours/week
      • Some weekend and evening availability is required
      • Compensation: $38,000–$48,000/year
      • Includes 5 PTO days and paid closure December holidays
